Job Description As a Security Guard - Unarmed Roving Patrol in Edwardsville, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, communicate clearly with employees and drivers, document observations, and respond to security-related needs with professionalism. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Having customer service experience is preferred.
• Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouses, dock doors, truck yards, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
• Monitor access control points by checking identification and/or shipping documentation, directing visitor and driver traffic, and maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs per site requirements.
• Complete security-related reports and shift logs, document unusual conditions, and communicate observations to on-site personnel and/or Allied Universal supervision.
