As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control activities, communicate professionally with residents, visitors, and staff, and provide exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, entry points, common spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and assist with visitor management and resident-related concerns.
  • Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicate relevant information to site personnel and Allied Universal leadership, and follow established escalation procedures.
