As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will drive and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, assist students, faculty, and visitors with clear communication, and document observations and activities. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control concerns, disturbances, medical calls, and other campus-related requests.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor and report security-related alarms, suspicious activity, and facility issues, and document observations in written reports and/or electronic systems per site requirements.
  • Coordinate with campus personnel and local first responders as needed, provide directions and information, and support orderly evacuations and/or shelter-in-place procedures when directed.
