As a Security Guard Trucking Gate Access in Wilmington, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support daily operations with strong communication and customer service. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while delivering reliable service through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
  • Document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity, issue access instructions, and communicate security-related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, shipping and receiving areas, and the perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
