Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or residents by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a government facility serving veterans.
  • Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify access authorization, issue visitor credentials as applicable, and maintain accurate visitor logs.
  • Monitor entry points, alarms, cameras, and/or other assigned systems; report unusual activity and follow established escalation procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel or emergency responders.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with facility personnel and Allied Universal leadership while documenting incidents, observations, and shift activities.
