Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Security Officer at a busy government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support security-related operations, and assist visitors with professionalism and clear communication. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agency representatives as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, waiting areas, boarding points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual activity.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify authorized entry when required, and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
  • Support crowd management and orderly movement during arrivals, departures, delays, and/or service interruptions while following post orders and applicable location protocols.
