As a Security Guard - NYS Licensed Patrol Rounds in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor public areas and offices through routine patrols and access control, helping to reduce security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will assist with visitor screening and badge procedures, document activity using a computer and/or tablet, and provide professional customer service while communicating clearly with staff, visitors, and response partners.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, corridors, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, checking identification and/or credentials as required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in processes.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, maintain activity logs, and communicate observations to supervisors and/or site personnel.
