About The Position

As a Security Guard - Government Grounds Patrol in QUEENS, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. Your role will involve conducting routine patrols, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining clear communication with site personnel. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify potential issues.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and unusual occurrences according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and provide reassurance to employees and visitors at the government location.
  • Perform access control duties, including verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points as required by site-specific policies.
