About The Position

As a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Risk Assessment Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols throughout the mall, common areas, parking facilities, tenant spaces, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and vehicle activity, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Support a welcoming environment by providing directions, assisting with customer inquiries, and documenting incidents and daily activities in accordance with site requirements.
