As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and deliver customer service with integrity and teamwork. This role requires an Armed Guard Card and/or license.

Requirements

  • 3+ years combined law enforcement or Military or Armed Security Experience
  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Have 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience OR a college degree.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, donors, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor flow, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in areas in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, documenting events, and coordinating with site leadership and/or local public responders as needed.
  • Complete timely reports, logs, and shift communications, and maintain proper care, accountability, and authorized use of assigned equipment in line with Allied Universal policies and site requirements.
