As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, respond to calls for service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed patrols on foot and/or by vehicle throughout buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, helping to deter unauthorized activity and identifying hazards or suspicious conditions.
  • Monitor access points and screen authorized entry using post orders, identification requirements, and visitor management protocols, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or public sector partners as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, initiating notifications, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency services when required.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and documentation, including patrol activity logs, incident reports, and evidence handling in accordance with site policies and Allied Universal guidelines.
