As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Security in Columbus, OH, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, staff, and event attendees by carrying out site-specific procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities at a public cultural and community gathering location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout outdoor grounds, walkways, parking areas, event spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor visitor activity and support orderly use of public spaces during daily operations, programs, and special events while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations according to site procedures.
• Assist with access control, directions, and visitor questions while reporting maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
