About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Bike Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols on foot, by bike, and in a vehicle as part of a driving post, maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will engage with employees and visitors through clear communication and customer service, document observations, and support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and always acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and customer service expectations at a technology location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal staff and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and lobby or reception areas as assigned, verifying authorization, assisting with visitor management, and reporting irregular activity per site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs regarding patrol findings, incidents, and security-related observations, and communicate updates to supervisors and site representatives as required.
