About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Bike Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols on foot, by bike, and in a vehicle as part of a driving post, maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will engage with employees and visitors through clear communication and customer service, document observations, and support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and always acts with integrity.

Requirements

Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
Be 21 or more years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be able to ride a bike.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and customer service expectations at a technology location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal staff and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
Monitor access points and lobby or reception areas as assigned, verifying authorization, assisting with visitor management, and reporting irregular activity per site procedures.
Complete detailed reports and logs regarding patrol findings, incidents, and security-related observations, and communicate updates to supervisors and site representatives as required.
