About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol - Day Shifts in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents through strong presence and communication. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance, document activity, and deliver customer service with professionalism. Bring agility, reliability, and integrity while supporting a caring, team-focused culture.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
Maintain an armed post in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and use of force guidelines, including positive identification and appropriate escalation and de-escalation techniques.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site representatives and local public agencies when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, access points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
Complete detailed reports and logs, document incidents and patrol activities, and communicate security-related information to supervisors and site contacts.
