As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail and mall location, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. Your visible presence and professional demeanor will support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This is an armed post, requiring you to respond calmly and confidently to any security-related situations that may arise, while upholding our core values of integrity, teamwork, and care.

Requirements

Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a Level III armed certification if located in Texas.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies while providing customer service to clients, staff, and visitors at the location.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail or mall environment, including the perimeter and designated areas, to help to deter unwanted activity.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and/or checking identification as required.
Document observations, incidents, and/or activities in detailed reports according to Allied Universal guidelines.
Support emergency response activities by coordinating with local authorities and Allied Universal management when appropriate.
Remain visible and approachable to help to deter potential disturbances and provide assistance to patrons, tenants, or employees as needed.
