Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have a 40 caliber endorsement.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with supervisors and/or public agency contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, facilities, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, restricted areas, and public spaces while verifying credentials, observing activity, and reporting security-related concerns according to post orders.
  • Carry authorized equipment in accordance with post requirements while maintaining a visible presence that may help to deter misconduct and support orderly operations throughout the location.
