Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a current armed guard card.
  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital environment that may include a morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or urgent situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including entrances, hallways, parking areas, and perimeter access points, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor and/or vendor activity to help to deter unauthorized entry and support orderly movement throughout the location.
  • Support staff with security-related concerns, assist with de-escalation when appropriate, and document daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual observations in a clear and timely manner.
