About The Position

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Flex Patrol Officer in San Diego, California. The officer will safeguard clients across a variety of industries and work at different sites and assignments. The schedule varies week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. The role involves irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The position offers 30–40 hours per week and pays $21.38 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Must be willing and able to travel to assigned work locations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn people of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
