About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across industries such as healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim available shifts based on their availability, gaining experience across different sites. The role may involve irregular shifts, sometimes with little or no advance notice. Candidates must be comfortable using computers or tablets. No prior experience is required; training and assistance obtaining a security license are available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Security licensing may be required before employment depending on state or local laws and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must be comfortable using computers or tablets.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
