These positions are Seasonal Part-time and event-based. Position Overview As a Security Event Staff Member at Southern Methodist University (SMU), you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all attendees, athletes, staff, and guests across a variety of SMU Athletics events. This includes home games for Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and Women’s Volleyball. You will be stationed at key access points, crowd control zones, and other critical areas throughout the venue to monitor activity, enforce venue policies, and provide guidance to guests as needed. Whether you’re checking credentials, assisting with crowd movement, or helping to resolve issues, your role is essential to a smooth and secure event experience. This is a seasonal, part-time position, with the majority of shifts scheduled between August and March. In addition to working SMU events, team members may have opportunities to work external events throughout the Dallas area via Rhino’s extended event network. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in venue operations, public safety, or event management while being a part of the exciting atmosphere of collegiate athletics.
