About The Position

Mirendil is a tech-first company focused on removing core bottlenecks that can accelerate science and technology. Its initial goal is to democratize frontier AI research and development across scientific disciplines, and it is building a frontier AI research company that trains its own models end to end. The Security Engineer will work across cloud infrastructure, machine learning systems, and product surfaces to ensure privacy and security measures. The role addresses security challenges at the frontier of AI, where threat surfaces are novel and the stakes are high.

Responsibilities

Design and implement measures to protect against external threats.
Design and implement protective measures for data transfer, external attacks, secret management, and identity verification.
Architect systems to protect sensitive assets, including model weights, customer data, and training datasets.
Build secure, sandboxed execution environments for AI-generated code and agentic workflows.
Develop frameworks for safely handling AI agent interactions with external systems and tools.
Investigate security incidents across the technology stack and respond to them.
Conduct security design reviews for engineering teams.
Implement and maintain security-related features for a fast-moving product.
