We have an opportunity for a Security Engineer to join our Golden Valley, MN team. You will be responsible for supporting efforts to ensure all systems are securely designed, implemented, and monitored at Pentair. This role will report to the Senior Information Security Manager – Security Engineering and Operations and work globally across the enterprise and business units to ensure effective security controls are built into our environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of security engineering, architecture, operations, or relevant technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and Microsoft security solutions (CrowdStrike, Defender, Purview, Sentinel).
  • Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation is preferred.
  • CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Splunk Certified Admin) are preferred.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving mentality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and manage security tools in alignment with industry best practices and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with IT and application teams to integrate security controls into system designs.
  • Automate security processes and tool integrations using scripting and orchestration platforms.
  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of security tools.
  • Manage updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure tools remain effective and secure.
  • Tune and optimize tools to reduce false positives and improve detection capabilities.
  • Support incident response efforts by providing tool-based insights.
  • Maintain clear documentation for tool configurations, processes, and procedures.
