About The Position

The Security Dispatcher is responsible for patrolling the interior and perimeter of the hotel to identify and mitigate security and safety risks. This role involves maintaining order, ensuring guest welfare, responding to emergencies, and providing administrative support. The dispatcher will handle guest and employee requests, manage security systems, and document incidents.

  • Ability to answer security and safety hotline calls.
  • Ability to prepare schedules and communicate relevant information.
  • Knowledge of life safety systems and building layout.
  • Ability to monitor security monitors and report suspicious activity.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.

  • Experience in a hotel security role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct foot patrols of the hotel's interior and perimeter to observe and identify potential security and safety risks.
  • Evaluate situations and make logical decisions to maintain order and ensure guest welfare.
  • Respond to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards, and threats to life or property.
  • Receive and direct visitors, guests, and clients.
  • Answer phone calls and direct requests from guests and co-workers to the appropriate department or person.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with callers.
  • Write and follow up on all requests or messages with guests, house persons, and supervisors.
  • Use guest names at all times.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including filling paperwork, making copies, and keeping daily records.
  • Register all guest and team member requests in Synergy and follow up.
  • Register maintenance requests in Synergy and inform the Engineering Department, followed by follow-up.
  • Print Synergy reports at the end of each shift.
  • Register any Lost and Found items in the Lost and Found Logbook and store them.
  • Perform Key Inventory at the beginning, middle, and end of each shift.
  • Assist in KIPSU with any guest requests and follow up.
  • Handle undesired conduct and violations of hotel policy and civil laws.
  • Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
  • Prepare schedules and communicate relevant information on house count, conventions, arrivals, and departures.
  • Memorize and monitor life safety systems, including building layout, locations of safety equipment, and alarm reports.
  • Observe monitors for unusual activity and report suspicious behavior via radio to the supervisor on duty.
  • Administer CPR and First Aid.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management, General Manager, or Security Director.
