About The Position

The Security Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating security personnel, monitoring communications, responding to incidents, and maintaining accurate records. The dispatcher serves as a central point of communication between security officers, supervisors, clients, emergency services, and company management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous security, dispatch, customer service, or communications experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing requests.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn dispatch and scheduling software.
  • Ability to accurately document information and maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within company procedures.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Security industry or dispatch experience.
  • Experience using two-way radios and telephone systems.
  • Experience with security camera or alarm monitoring systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of basic emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor radio, telephone, alarm, and other communication systems.
  • Dispatch security officers to posts, incidents, emergencies, and service calls.
  • Monitor officer locations, post assignments, and staffing levels.
  • Coordinate coverage for open or vacant security posts.
  • Receive and document calls, complaints, incidents, and requests for assistance.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity logs and dispatch records.
  • Monitor security cameras and alarm systems when assigned.
  • Immediately notify supervisors and management of significant incidents.
  • Contact police, fire, medical services, or other emergency personnel when appropriate.
  • Track officer call-offs, late arrivals, and replacements.
  • Assist with scheduling and last-minute staffing adjustments.
  • Conduct welfare checks on officers when necessary.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, officers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company, client, employee, and security-related information.
  • Prepare incident reports and other documentation as required.
  • Follow all company policies, post orders, emergency procedures, and client requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
