About The Position

The Security Desk Attendant is responsible for monitoring all security systems on site, responding quickly and appropriately as the situation warrants, thereby promoting safety and security at Conner Prairie. This position may require safety and security duties on the grounds during daily operations and special events and festivals. The role involves patrolling and monitoring Conner Prairie buildings, exhibits, and outdoor areas, and responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, alarms, and medical incidents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty according to the requirements of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all security camera images closely throughout entire shift.
  • Complete security logbooks accurately and promptly on all alarms.
  • Respond to fire and security alarms immediately and accordingly to established protocol.
  • Monitor weather conditions and follow protocols for informing staff of hazards.
  • Approach questionable situations with caution, never placing self in danger.
  • Use appropriate authorities (Fire, Police, and Ambulance) as necessary.
  • Patrol and monitor Conner Prairie buildings, exhibits, and outdoor areas.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, alarms and medical incidents.
