About The Position

This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats. Our capabilities in cybersecurity, network architecture, reverse engineering, software and hardware development uniquely enable us to support sensitive missions for the U.S. military and federal agency partners. HII’s Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. This position is part of our Cyber and Intelligence division, which plays a critical role in supporting Enterprise-Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical facilities, and personnel operations. The selected candidate will contribute to a high-impact government program focused on enhancing and securing mission-critical systems and environments. The program is scheduled to launch in early 2026 and due to the classified nature of the mission and the sensitivity of the operational environment, an active TS/SCI security clearance will be required. This posting is to collect applications for current and future openings for HII Mission Technologies. Requirements

  • 4+ years applying or validating security configurations and controls on Enterprise operating systems as a SCA, ISSO, ISSE or systems administrator
  • Technical understanding of Enterprise operating systems, components, protocols, and services (i.e., Windows, RHEL, Active Directory, ACAS, AV, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience applying the Risk Management Framework to secure Enterprise information systems in the DoD/IC space
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, such as Security Assessment Reports, System Security Plans, Plan of Action and Milestones, Security Controls Traceability Matrices, etc.
  • Experience working with Cybersecurity toolsets such as ACAS and ServiceNow CAM
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and skilled in presenting technical concepts to senior leadership/executive management
  • TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain a CI Poly
  • Travel requirement 10% annually
  • Must meet DoD 8140/CSWF for 612-Intermedediate or be willing to obtain the appropriate credential within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and assessing system security packages and bodies of evidence
  • Conducting and documenting the management, operational, and technical security control effectiveness applied on information systems
  • Assessing information systems' weaknesses or deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to address vulnerabilities
  • Providing the initial mitigation of Cybersecurity incidents, supporting incident investigations, and closing incidents
  • Assessing proposed hardware, software, and firmware for vulnerabilities
  • Drafting and submitting formal documentation including Security Assessment Reports, Cybersecurity Assessment Reports, Compliance Reports, Incident Reports, Technical Assessment Reports
  • Reviewing and assessing Plans of Actions and Milestones
