About The Position

The Security Compliance Specialist II supports the execution of Akamai's security and compliance program, partnering with engineering, security, and business teams to implement and maintain compliance with industry and regulatory frameworks. The role helps evaluate security controls, collect and assess evidence, identify compliance gaps, and drive remediation efforts. It is suited to someone transitioning from information security, cloud operations, infrastructure, or compliance into governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Understanding of cloud computing concepts and cloud platforms.
Familiarity with security concepts including IAM, networking, encryption, logging, and vulnerability management.
Experience with one or more frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST, or HIPAA.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Akamai Cloud/Linode.
Experience using GRC platforms such as ServiceNow IRM, Archer, or AuditBoard.

Responsibilities

Partner with engineering teams to assess the implementation of security controls.
Evaluate compliance with industry frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
Collect, validate, and organize audit evidence for internal and external reviews.
Perform control testing to verify that documented processes operate effectively.
Track remediation activities and assist system owners with resolving findings.
Review technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and change records.
