About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking a Service Technician who will act as a troubleshooter and service expert for security systems. The role involves addressing customer concerns, inspecting systems, and performing repairs or replacements of security equipment such as burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and Card Access systems. The technician will work independently from a remote location with provided tools and equipment, focusing on solving building inefficiencies and resolving service-related issues. This role requires providing the highest level of service and acting as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during service calls. The technician will also be responsible for providing quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3-4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras.
Excellent communication skills.
Electrical/Electronic background.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Fire alarm experience preferred.
Some college preferred.
NICET II or greater preferred.

Responsibilities

Alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system.
Advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections.
Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment.
Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
Provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
Service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently.
Upsell opportunities.
Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
