About The Position

The Security Clerk serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking entry into Nucor Steel Utah, including customers, contractors, and delivery drivers. Responsibilities will include confirming appointments, completing initial screening to help ensure prohibited items are not brought on-site, notifying team of visitor arrivals and issuing gate passes. The clerk will also provide access for visitors to required electronic training, as applicable. In addition, the role may provide clerical support to multiple departments using Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Nucor-specific applications. Safety is the top priority at all Nucor locations. The Safety Clerk is expected to work safely at all times, comply with all job-related safety requirements, and clearly communicate applicable safety expectations to visitors upon entry. This position also supports communication regarding potential weather-related emergencies and assists with coordination of emergency services, as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of clerical or administrative experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with other computer software/applications.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime.
