About The Position

The Division of Capitol Police is seeking a Security Clearance Coordinator to conduct database checks and compile results to respond to requests for security clearance approval in a timely and efficient manner. This role will also complete reports and projects relating to security clearances. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a strong internal controlled environment to reduce potential risks or communicate them to management, and to ensure data and reports are accurate and reliable.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of research and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to effectively collect, analyze, summarize, interpret, and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing.
  • General knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and to produce logic-based analysis and recommendations on security clearance applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and complete files, manage multiple priorities, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and representatives of other agencies and organizations.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the general public.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain VCIN certification.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Applicants must complete a personal history questionnaire.
  • BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND FINGERPRINT-BASED CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK REQUIRED.
  • MEDICAL AND DRUG TESTING REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with applicable coursework in social science, government, business, criminal justice or related field, and/or analytical experience to include criminal analytical trainings.
  • Public safety experience or other broad scope government experience.
