About The Position

This position will oversee the entire Security Department at Spring Grove Hospital Center (SGHC). This position may be subject to call-in during emergencies and staffing shortages; be required to move and position patients or apply physical restraints; and making rounds during day, evening or night shifts, which may include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

High School diploma or high school equivalency certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education.
Four years of experience providing security to patients or inmates or youths committed by courts to psychiatric hospitals, correctional facilities or juvenile detention centers.
Two years of which must have been in a position that included supervisory responsibility.
U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien status.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
A complete background investigation.
Oral interview.
Physical examination.
Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, must have a telephone at their place of residence.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing.

Nice To Haves

Experience supervising security personnel in a healthcare and/or psychiatric facility.
Experience utilizing MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace for creating reports, managing documents and tracking security incidents.
Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
