KBR is currently recruiting for a Security Assistant to join our team. This is a Full-time, on-site position, supporting the Division Security Representative of the Naval Research Laboratory facility at 1005 Balch Boulevard, Stennis Space Center, MS 39529. Also, assists Division Security Representative (DSR), for the NRL Acoustics and Ocean Sciences Division and responsible to the Division Superintendent (Code 1251) and to the Head of NRL Information Security and Special Programs Branch (Code 1230), as directed, to support physical security related tasks.

Requirements

  • No government security clearance required to start, however, the candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • High School diploma and 7-10 years of experience in physical security systems and procedures.
  • Technical electronics background with access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance equipment adequate to maintain security infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal security related training such as Physical Security for Classified Programs, COMSEC Custodian, Facility Security Officer, Cybersecurity or other relevant security related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that threats to security, possible compromises, and other security violations or infractions are reported, documented and when necessary investigated.
  • Reporting security violations from breakdowns in access control procedures and safeguards that have an impact on security.
  • Investigates and documents security related violations.
  • Take corrective actions, as appropriate, to monitor implementation of customer’s physical security infrastructure decisions regarding corrective actions.
  • Perform duties, when authorized, as a Classified Material Courier.
  • Coordinate with contractor Facility Security Officers (FSO) and Information System Security Managers (ISSM) as necessary.
  • Assist the implementation of Information Security (INFOSEC) policies and procedures pertaining to the operation and safeguarding of access control, CCTV and telecommunications equipment and the information processed or stored in classified and unclassified computer systems.
  • When directed, coordinate with the NRL Information Security Section to ensure compliance with requirements for security of classified information processing systems and processes.
  • Insure that all IT systems are properly labeled and users follow Navy and DoD classification marking procedures.
  • Confirm proper operation of Access Control and Intrusion systems.
  • Verify CCTV and Video Surveillance systems are operational and provide complete coverage to ensure security of spaces.
  • Assist with maintaining and administering required EKMS.
  • Support the accreditation, management and maintenance of Secure Terminal Rooms.
