About The Position

Lightedge is seeking a Security Architect to design, strengthen, and govern secure technology solutions across our managed infrastructure, private cloud, colocation, networking, disaster recovery, and cloud service environments. This role will establish practical security architecture standards, guide secure solution design, evaluate risk, and partner with Infrastructure, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and customer-facing teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, business judgment, and the ability to translate complex security requirements into scalable, reliable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure security, cloud security, or security architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience designing or governing enterprise security architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, identity and access management, encryption, endpoint security, vulnerability management, logging, and monitoring.
  • Experience implementing AI-specific security controls and frameworks
  • Experience with cloud and private-cloud platforms, virtualization, data center environments, and managed services.
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks including NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, and zero-trust principles.
  • Experience supporting security assessments, audits, risk management, and compliance programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business leaders, auditors, partners, and customers.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, or comparable certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise security architecture, standards, reference designs, and technical roadmaps.
  • Design secure solutions across cloud, private cloud, colocation, virtualization, networks, identity, endpoints, applications, and data protection.
  • Apply zero-trust, defense-in-depth, least-privilege, and secure-by-design principles.
  • Lead security reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture exception processes.
  • Partner with Infrastructure and Engineering teams to embed security into solution design, implementation, and operations.
  • Evaluate security technologies, vendors, and third-party solutions.
  • Support incident response, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and remediation planning.
  • Translate regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements into actionable technical controls.
  • Support compliance initiatives and audits involving SOC 2, HIPAA/HITRUST, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Create clear architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, and executive-level risk summaries.
  • Provide technical guidance for strategic customer opportunities and regulated environments when needed.
  • Monitor emerging threats, technologies, and industry practices to continuously improve Lightedge’s security posture.
