Security Architect

Oracle•United States,

About The Position

The Security Architect operates at line-of-business-wide scope, setting the vision and technical standards for hyper-scale, elastic distributed systems. The role leads architecture and optimization across interdependent platforms, removes performance and scalability bottlenecks, and advances data plane technologies. It engineers fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable designs that withstand network partitions and unreliability, and establishes service-level-objective-aligned durability and availability standards for other services. The position defines organizational KPIs and telemetry practices; implements dashboards, chaos strategies, and CI/CD-integrated resilience testing; and promotes formal verification and novel replication and synchronization techniques. It provides technical leadership during complex incidents, establishes operational readiness and standard operating procedure expectations, and drives long-term corrective strategies. It also establishes security baselines and remediation programs for multi-tenant environments, supports compliance and documentation quality, and leads infrastructure-as-code automation and change strategies for safe patching, updates, and rollbacks. The role oversees planning and execution of line-of-business initiatives, including timelines, deliverables, budgets where applicable, and organizational priorities. It drives collaboration across lines of business and external stakeholders, contributes industry thought leadership and knowledge sharing, leads continuous improvement, and provides strategic guidance on talent development.
