About The Position

Parsons has an opportunity for a skilled CBA – Security III professional with strong emergency medical response experience to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key onsite responder at the Faro Mine Remediation Project, providing medical aid, mine rescue support, and site safety services that help protect the health and well-being of personnel across a remote industrial environment. Local candidates are preferred, but fly-in/fly-out candidates will be considered for a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation, including day and night shifts. This is a unionized position represented by USW Local #925. Terms and conditions of employment are governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Union membership and dues will apply. The hourly wage for this position is $33.38

Requirements

  • Emergency Medical Responder and/or Advanced First Aid (EMR/AFA) certification.
  • Valid Mine Rescue Certificate (surface) compatible with Yukon OHS Mine Rescue Standard (OHS, 2016) and approved by Yukon WCB.
  • Experience responding to medical incidents, emergencies, or rescue situations in industrial, remote, or high-risk environments is strongly valued.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions in emergencies, and work effectively as part of a response team.
  • Experience training new hires and Mine Rescue team members.
  • Understanding of confidentiality expectations related to first aid and medical response.
  • Ability to perform routine site security practices and support broader site safety operations.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, work in varying weather conditions, and perform all related medical and Mine Rescue response tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new computer systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an onsite Emergency Medical Responder, providing first aid and medical support in urgent and non-routine situations.
  • Respond to emergency events including vehicle extractions, medical aid calls, mine rescue incidents, wildfire monitoring, and other mine site response scenarios.
  • Participate in drills, training exercises, and ongoing competency activities required to maintain emergency response and mine rescue certification readiness.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle first aid and medical information in accordance with applicable privacy and reporting requirements.
  • Train new hires and Mine Rescue team members in response procedures, site expectations, and safe work practices.
  • Oversee site security and surveillance operations, ensuring compliance with access control and site safety protocols.
  • Monitor and respond to emergency alerts including lone worker alarms.
  • Investigate disturbances, and contact police or fire departments in cases of emergency or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor and track all incoming and outgoing personnel, customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain daily and monthly reports related to site activity, incidents, and response operations.
  • Support site and office operations as needed, including reception duties, communications, light maintenance, and general upkeep of the Security Building workspace.
  • Greet personnel entering the FMRP in a professional and efficient manner and answer incoming calls or inquiries appropriately.
