About The Position

Loudoun County's Office of Emergency Management, Safety & Security is seeking customer service-oriented applicants for a Security Analyst position. The successful candidate will assist the Security Operations Center Program Manager by monitoring security surveillance systems and conducting intelligence and surveillance activities; producing security reports; conducting safety and security audits of County facilities; and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws. This position will provide guidance and expertise in-house to promote a program of office-level emergency preparedness, safety, and security. The analyst will work across departments to ensure all staff are as prepared and informed as possible for emergency and safety situations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree with coursework in Intelligence and Data Analytics, Homeland Security, Criminology, Emergency Management, or a related field; three (3) years of related work experience in intelligence and/or security; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Monitoring security systems to include cameras and access control tools
  • Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS, private security, and/or Military experience
  • Skill in working with computers and County/Department software including Oracle, Microsoft Office products, mapping tools, dashboards, software used in intelligence analysis, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electronic access control systems.
  • Monitor alarms, alerts, and notifications.
  • Tracks live security camera feeds across county facilities and identifies suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, or abnormal patterns in facility operations.
  • Maintain detailed incident logs and reports.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize security-related information to support intelligence briefings.
  • Continuously monitors social media platforms, news outlets, blogs, forums, and public safety channels for emerging threats or relevant situational updates.
  • Monitors weather, natural hazard alerts, and infrastructure disruption reports from public sources.
  • Collaborate with security, law enforcement, other County and regional partners.
  • Conduct routine systems checks and troubleshooting of security systems and coordinate with technical support for maintenance and repairs.
  • Participate in training, exercises, and after-action reviews to improve situational awareness, response effectiveness, and overall security posture.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
