About The Position

The Security Academy Manager will lead the training and development that prepares security teams to deliver safe, confident, and exceptional experiences across MGM Resorts International's Las Vegas and Regional properties. This role involves guiding day-to-day academy operations and implementing training programs to build skilled, high-performing teams. The position is an opportunity to lead, teach, and inspire, contributing to the mission of owning the guest's experience and creating memorable experiences.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years of prior relevant experience in a Supervisory and/or Management role.
  • Must be a strong writer with excellent communication and comprehension skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of security policies and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and training activities of the Security Training Academy, ensuring all mission-critical objectives and requirements for Las Vegas and Regional Properties are met in alignment with direction from the Security Academy Manager.
  • Forecast training needs and manage the master training schedule to ensure timely completion of required training and certifications, maintaining compliance with federal, state, local laws, and MGMRI policies.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all training documentation, certifications, and reporting; maintain records within Training Academy databases, dashboards, and manual systems.
  • Develop, track, and deliver performance metrics and reports to leadership, including the Security Academy Manager, Security COE team, and property leadership across Las Vegas and Regional Properties.
  • Manage training supplies, equipment, and inventory, ensuring proper distribution, tracking, and real-time visibility of resources.
  • Oversee budget adherence, procurement processes, and expense reporting in accordance with approved guidelines.
