The legal team supports BETA’s aircraft and charger manufacturing as well as charge network development. The successful candidate will work across the company to guide business initiatives, navigate legal and regulatory requirements, and help protect BETA against risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • JD and license to practice before a state bar
  • 6+ years of legal experience, with a significant portion in-house
  • Strong understanding of federal securities laws, SEC rules, regulations, and public company reporting requirements
  • Experience advising public company boards or board committees, including Compensation and Audit Committee matters
  • Experience with equity administration and executive and director equity matters, including 10b5-1 plans and Section 16 reporting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with SEC staff and negotiate with regulators
  • Prior experience in aerospace, complex manufacturing, or an industry core to BETA's business
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and lead legal and cross-functional projects with strong judgment and project management skills

  • In-house M&A experience or experience supporting corporate development on acquisitions and strategic transactions
  • Experience partnering across People, Compensation & Benefits, Finance, and Internal Audit on equity, compliance, and governance matters
  • Experience with proxy statements, annual meetings, shareholder matters, and public company governance

Responsibilities

  • Advise on federal securities laws and SEC reporting requirements, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, S-3, S-8, and related filings
  • Partner with Finance, Investor Relations, Communications, and other teams to ensure accurate and timely public company disclosures
  • Support the Compensation and Audit Committees of the Board, including meeting preparation, materials, resolutions, and legal and regulatory guidance
  • Work closely with the Compensation & Benefits Leader and People and Finance teams on equity administration, including 10b5-1 trading plans, equity grants, vesting, exercises, tax and reporting requirements, and related matters
  • Advise on insider trading, Section 16 compliance, beneficial ownership reporting, and other securities law requirements applicable to directors and executives
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit on compliance, controls, and public company readiness
  • Support board and executive onboarding and training on securities and corporate governance obligations, and provide guidance and training across the company on relevant legal topics
  • Maintain corporate governance policies and materials, including the Code of Conduct, Insider Trading Policy, and committee charters
  • Assist with board and committee resolutions, consents, minutes, and other governance matters
  • Support annual meeting, proxy statement, shareholder, and other corporate governance processes
  • Provide legal support for M&A transactions and related commercial agreements
