About The Position

The Securities Analyst supports the management and growth of Wealth Management client portfolios through investment research, portfolio management, trading, financial planning, and client support. The role works closely with Advisors and Wealth Management team members to develop investment strategies, monitor market conditions, and help ensure client assets are managed prudently and in accordance with client goals and investment guidelines. The position is based in person at Security National Bank’s Sioux City, Iowa location. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Strong understanding of investment principles, securities markets, and portfolio management concepts.
Ability to analyze financial data, economic trends, and investment opportunities.
Experience conducting investment research and developing recommendations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Ability to learn and effectively use portfolio management and trading systems.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to explain complex investment concepts to clients and colleagues.
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to exceptional client service.
Ability to work effectively with clients, Advisors, and team members at all levels.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in investments, portfolio management, wealth management, banking, or financial services.
Progress toward or completion of professional investment designations such as CFA or CFP.

Responsibilities

Monitor market and economic trends to identify investment opportunities and risks.
Research and analyze securities and investment products.
Develop and recommend purchase and sale strategies for client portfolios and the Wealth Management Division.
Research and execute trades for Wealth Management and Safekeeping client accounts.
Ensure trades and portfolio activity comply with client investment objectives and guidelines.
Review assigned client portfolios and identify opportunities for rebalancing or strategy adjustments.
Support the prudent management and ongoing maintenance of client accounts.
Partner with Wealth Advisors on client relationships and investment strategies.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and educational discussions.
Communicate investment insights and portfolio recommendations to Advisors and clients.
Assist in developing customized investment solutions for clients.
Complete assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual projects accurately and on schedule.
Coordinate and prepare presentation materials for prospective and existing clients.
Support departmental initiatives, reporting requirements, and special projects.
Maintain accurate investment and portfolio management records.
Provide backup support for other Wealth Management team members as needed.
Participate in business development, sales support, and client relationship-building efforts.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on exceptional client service.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
