Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) by Construction Management Association of America
  • Professional Engineer in California

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team within the CMS Business Class
  • Manage workload and adjust staff assignments as needed to deliver quality products
  • Provide oversight and mentorship on projects
  • Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel
  • Support hiring initiatives for the CMS Business Class
  • Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Support project management activities including planning, directing and monitoring
  • Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, progress reports, budgets, and schedule management reports
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections
  • Coordinate local bidding efforts
  • Take responsibility for project setup and temporary facilities
  • Participate in business development, including client interaction, proposal development, and participation in professional societies
  • Support implementing QA/QC procedures, and for the execution of training for personnel as established by BC leadership
  • Mentor local project staff that are less experienced Project Managers to help develop their professional growth.
  • Be active in recruitment and hiring
  • Perform other duties as needed
