About The Position

The University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks candidates for the role of Section Chief of Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery and Surgical Quality Officer for the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC). Candidates for the full-time faculty position should qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate will be board certified in Colorectal Surgery and have a strong academic interest in quality and safety. Responsibilities will include building a robust clinical colorectal program at UMMC and contributing to the comprehensive growth of colorectal surgery throughout the medical system, while educating medical students, surgery residents, and fellows. As Surgical Quality Officer for UMMC, the successful candidate will direct surgical quality improvement activities across all surgical subspecialties of the medical center with the direct support of the Department of Quality Improvement.
