About The Position

The Counseling Center at The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an outpatient facility dedicated to providing the highest level of care to adults with a variety of behavioral health diagnoses. Our multi-disciplinary team is comprised of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Support Staff who help to support the needs of the greater New Britain community by offering services in English, Spanish and Polish. Our staff works in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams in a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of secretarial/office experience in a healthcare setting.
Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish or Polish preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of typing, filing and telephone duties for the Counseling Center.
Produces reports and compiles statistics as assigned.
Answers telephone, routes callers, takes messages, schedules appointments, provides routine information to clients, callers and interacts with public, patients, and other staff to promote good public relations.
Types letters, reports, memos and correspondence.
Maintains files of correspondence and other paperwork on an on-going basis.
Participates in development and maintenance of therapeutic community activities.
Acts as role model to clients and participates in weekly staff meetings and bi-monthly patient business meetings.
Compiles program figures and creates quarterly and yearly statistical reports.
