About The Position

This position is for a full-time Secretary in the Therapy DM Admin department, working day shifts. The role involves scheduling outpatient appointments, verifying insurance and billing information, maintaining high accuracy in data processing, providing phone reception, managing and scanning chart notes, registering patient accounts, performing front desk duties, and supporting a collaborative team environment. The job requires the ability to work independently and with others, prioritize tasks, and handle stressful situations effectively.

Requirements

  • Ability to type 70 wpm
  • Experience in data entry, computer, and word processing

Responsibilities

  • Schedules outpatient appointments with scheduling tools and per department protocol.
  • Obtains and verifies insurance and billing information.
  • Accurately processes information for all insurance types and obtains necessary information for unfamiliar insurance types.
  • Provides phone reception utilizing excellent service excellence techniques.
  • Creates, manages, and scans chart notes to assist clinicians with patient care and maintain regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Registers patient accounts and audits/monitors information for accuracy and proper billing.
  • Provides front desk reception duties, involving leadership when a situation has the potential to escalate or to receive recognition for staff.
  • Performs all job functions in a timely, efficient, and effective manner as part of a team.
  • Supports a collaborative and cooperative environment to facilitate mutual respect and effective interpersonal relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
