Supports patient care through ADLs, treatments, and monitoring. Reports condition changes, prioritizes tasks, and maintains safety and comfort. Assists with equipment, BCA procedures, communication, and patient flow. Ensures accurate documentation, clean environment, and positive interactions with patients, families, and staff. Acquires information on new patients and follow-ups. Schedules new patients and follow-up appointments. Prepares daily charts and obtains medical history, physician documentation, orders, lab work, consents, and releases information by HIPPA guidelines. Scans all medical records into Epic. Department reception greets patients and department visitors courteously. Answers questions, provides information requested, i.e., forms, brochures, insurance. Directs callers appropriately, uses telephone standard etiquette. Assists in the organizational structure of the unit and ongoing work environment. Communicates well with team members. Works well with co-workers and fosters department and hospital goals. Completes Registration process. Registers all new patients and verifies information on existing patients. Checks diagnosis codes with MD office and in Code Correct. Validates pre-certification process complete. Scans all documents into Epic. Identifies the patient using 2 patient identifiers and applied wristbands appropriately. Checks “in” patients from the Infusion departments. Maintains accurate and timely filing and scanning of all documents. Transmits and receives correspondence. Files patient reports and charts in their proper location. Walk to the pharmacy, and the lab and transport medications and/or blood specimens.
