About The Position

The Secretary of Academics position at Zion-Benton Township High School is a 12-month, classified, union-affiliated role reporting to the Chief Academic Officer. This position requires a high degree of technological proficiency and strong organizational skills to perform a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks. The role involves assisting with the coordination and administration of professional development, staff evaluation, assessment, and the teacher mentor program. Additionally, the secretary will support grant applications and administration related to teaching and learning. Effective and professional communication with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public, is essential. Maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment are key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Utilizes a high degree of technological proficiency, including Microsoft and Google applications (word processing, spreadsheets, and database management), internet-based assessment systems, state web applications (e.g., IWAS), Frontline software, Infinite Campus, and email communication.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills in performing a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Technological skills.
  • Two years of office experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education is desirable.
  • Prior experience with high school students is a plus.
