About The Position

Perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, time and attendance, and receiving telephone calls for the department. Maintain calendars for Manager and/or department personnel; arranging meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel. Provide administrative support and function in an effort to ensure cost-effective measures of operations, optimal lines of communication and promotes effective support of the Department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year of Unit Secretary experience or two years of clerical experience required
  • Must have ability to use standard office equipment such as telephones, fax machines, computer terminals, etc.
  • Must be able to work efficiently under stressful conditions and time constraints
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly
  • Must have excellent typing and organizational skills
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of work related information
  • Requires the ability to work well with patients, the public and all other health care professionals
  • Frequent sitting
  • Frequently requires long periods of working at a computer
  • Intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending, stretching
  • May require lifting or moving items up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity
  • Constant talking or hearing
  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
  • Minimal risk of exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue
  • Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases, bio-hazardous materials, toxic substances and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment
  • Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours
  • Ability to read and comprehend
