About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared State Estimation & Tracking Engineer in Chandler, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support advanced missile and interceptor systems through state estimation, sensor signal processing, electro-optical imaging, tracking algorithms, and GNC analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience with Kalman filtering and state-estimation techniques.
  • Experience with signal processing for guided missiles and/or interceptors.
  • Experience developing and maintaining algorithms and analysis tools using C++, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Strong foundation in probability theory and statistics.
  • Experience with electro-optical imaging systems.
  • Experience with image processing and sensor signal processing.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience applying statistical analysis to engineering problems.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with onboard or offboard sensor fusion.
  • Experience analyzing large Monte Carlo data sets.
  • Experience designing and analyzing simulation experiments.
  • Experience with Extended Kalman Filters (EKF).
  • Experience with advanced state estimation and tracking techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, verify, and test state-estimation, tracking, and GNC algorithms.
  • Develop software and simulation tools supporting guided missile and interceptor systems.
  • Apply statistical methods to measured sensor data and state-estimation problems.
  • Develop and analyze algorithms using C++, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Process and analyze electro-optical sensor data.
  • Support image-processing and sensor signal-processing applications.
  • Develop and evaluate Kalman-filter-based estimation approaches.
  • Support sensor-fusion analysis and implementation.
  • Analyze simulation results and large Monte Carlo data sets.
  • Support development and validation of tracking and estimation algorithms for advanced missile systems.
