This role is responsible for promoting the mental, physical, emotional, and social growth of assigned students. The teacher will utilize available instructional materials and a variety of techniques to provide opportunities for student achievement and development, demonstrating knowledge of appropriate developmental practices. Key functions include maintaining accurate records, ensuring a safe and attractive classroom, implementing effective classroom management, and completing administrative tasks in a timely manner. The position involves planning and preparing for classes, submitting lesson plans weekly, and reporting punctually to assigned duties. The teacher will also become knowledgeable about system methods, programs, and resources, using various diagnostic and placement methods. Professional growth, cooperation with colleagues, and communication with parents are essential. The role requires adherence to Louisiana laws concerning student education, health, safety, and welfare, and active participation in the evaluation process. All other duties assigned by the principal are also part of the responsibilities.
