The Secondary Science Classroom Teacher is responsible for implementing the educational program for students. This includes diagnosing student achievement levels, planning and directing learning activities, motivating students, and creating a positive learning environment. The teacher will also evaluate student progress, assist with student counseling, implement school and district curricular goals, and ensure substitutes have necessary information for effective instruction. Additionally, the role involves preparing and following lesson plans, assisting in curriculum development, assessing needs for instructional materials, and preparing lists of material and equipment needs. The teacher will also inform students of regulations, confer with parents, supervise students in various school areas, and assist in enforcing school regulations. Participation in inservice programs, maintaining records, checking attendance, sponsoring clubs, taking responsibility for issued materials, adhering to district policies, supervising bus students, attending faculty meetings, participating in professional activities, and staying informed about curriculum developments are also key aspects of the position. Other duties as assigned.
