Secondary School Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking proactive and engaged Special Education Teachers for the '25-'26 school year in the Bronx, NY. This role involves leading classroom instruction for 7th or 8th Grade Multi-Subject classrooms, or High School Science, depending on expertise and certification. The teacher will be responsible for assessing and identifying student needs, creating and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and implementing modifications to help students with diverse learning needs meet rigorous academic standards. Collaboration with general education teachers, families, and students is key to tracking progress and fostering a cohesive, high-achieving learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Valid New York State Teaching Certificate in Special Education (Required)
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of experience in special education with a background in managing middle or high school classrooms (Preferred)
